Wolverine Partners with Long-time Client to Build Hope

Wolverine Update

After the tragic death of their long-time employee, Lumbermen’s was looking for a way to honor Scott Taylor’s legacy. Connecting with the design-build team at Wolverine Building Group, they committed to constructing a “Welcome Center” for families participating in the equine ministry at H.U.G.S. Ranch in Byron Center, Michigan. Many other partners, including Buist Electric, Quality Air and Mitten Concrete, worked together to create the space for the non-profit.

Taylor was a dedicated volunteer at the non-profit, which is focused on offering Hope, Understanding, Guidance, and Support (H.U.G.S.) for children with an array of differences and challenges. Participants in the programs develop life skills through guided interaction with horses. The work done as kids build relationships with the horses and their adult mentors increases confidence, emotional stability, self-worth, and character.

The building was designed to offer a quiet respite to the families while their kids work in the barns with their horses and mentors.

The new building features finishes from Great American Spaces product line, creating a comforting and clean atmosphere to enhance the program experience for families.

The new facility was celebrated with a Ribbon Cutting on October 20 at 1 pm at the ranch.
