Southtown Square
Grand Rapids, MI
4 story apartment
A LEED certified affordable housing community
Project Overview
In an effort to make the Southtown neighborhood of Grand Rapids a better place to live, LINC Community Revitalization selected Wolverine Building Group to construct an affordable housing community.
The project involved the scrape-and-rebuild of six townhomes featuring two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom units. It also involved the new construction of a four-story mixed use mid-rise with 6,000-square-feet of retail space and 24 energy efficient apartments featuring one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units. Together, the townhomes and mid-rise house 44 affordable apartment units located within walking distance of a grocery store, library,
restaurants, park and other community spaces.
The facilities are LEED certified to improve the quality of life for the residents, promote the long-term sustainability of the buildings, and reduce environmental impact.
