Design Build for Repeat Client Advances Sustainability Goals
Project Overview
Wolverine Building Group completed this ground-up project for our repeat client, Lumbermen’s. Lumbermen’s has returned to WBG for multiple projects because, as a master builder, we are able to bring their visions to life in a safe and cost-efficient manner.
This two-story facility includes office and manufacturing space for solid surface, granite, quartz, and laminate products. The manufacturing space is highly automated, with specialized equipment and a state-of-the-art water filtration and recovery system. Much of Lumbermen’s machinery requires heavy water usage; this system allows them to reclaim the water to cut costs and boost sustainability. Lumbermen’s is one of two facilities in the USA that utilizes this high-tech water reclamation system.
In traditional manufacturing construction, the owner coordinates equipment installation. For this project, we worked closely with Lumbermen’s and coordinated the installation of manufacturing equipment. This innovation allowed Lumbermen’s to begin manufacturing as soon as all necessary permits and inspections were complete.
