Project Overview
John Ball Zoo is a 501(c)(3) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, advancing public education of the conservation of wildlife and our natural environment. The zoo provides exemplary animal care, state of the art animal exhibits, inspiring educational programs and first-class visitor amenities to over 500,000 children and adults annually.
Wolverine Building Group is a leader in the construction industry in Grand Rapids, Michigan with over 80 years of experience. Since its inception in 1939, Wolverine has been positively impacting people and communities from West Michigan and across the country through general contracting, construction management, and design/build services. The services Wolverine offers have evolved and grown, adjusting with clients’ needs and opportunities in the marketplace.
In 2017, John Ball Zoo requested Construction Management at risk (CMAR) services and selected Wolverine Building Group for the job. This was the beginning of our working relationship. Together John Ball Zoo and Wolverine Building Group have successfully completed 14 projects since 2017. This accomplishment has been achieved through collaboration toward the client’s Master Plan, shared understanding of construction delivery methods, and the flexibility of budgets and schedules aligned with capital campaigns.
