Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative

5,200 Sq. Ft.

Buildout Features Child-Focused Learning

Project Overview

Wolverine Building Group completed this build-out for our repeat client, Dwelling Place. This space will support ELNC (Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative), a non-profit organization that provides education to children in low-income families or challenging circumstances.

The 5,200 sq. ft. space houses four classrooms, each built to accommodate 25 students, with a restroom in each. Our team also built office space, a small conference room, a kitchenette, and laundry facilities. The space includes unique finishes that are appealing to young students, including child-scale doors and plumbing fixtures, colorful wall coverings with geometric cut-outs, and cloud-like ceiling panels.

In order to support the inclusive mission of ELNC, our team worked to maximize the participation of DBEs (disadvantaged business enterprises), with a focus on minority-owned trade contractors. Approximately 20% of the subcontractors onsite were minority-owned companies.
