Originally serving as a residence hall for workers at the hospital, Cottage 36 has been renovated into 29 high quality affordable housing units. General contractor Wolverine Building Group and architect Concept Design Studio collaborated in the extensive renovation of the 32,000 sq. ft., four-story building.
The living spaces feature modern, energy-efficient amenities with high-end and historically accurate finishes including refinished plaster and exposed brick walls, and custom wood trim and doors.
Located just one mile from downtown Traverse City, Cottage 36 is within walking distance of all of the excellent services and events that downtown has to offer.
Cottage 36 utilized Michigan State Historic Tax Credits and MSHDA Low Income Housing Tax Credits. The project has been certified LEED Gold. It was the recipient of a 2014 Tax Credit Project award from the Michigan Historic Preservation Network.
