NEW CONSTRUCTION OF AN UPSCALE RESTAURANT AND WINERY

Project Overview

Wolverine Building Group constructed the Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant in Troy, Michigan.

The project involved the new construction of a 12,347-square-foot restaurant and winery along “Restaurant Row” on Big Beaver Road. Our team self-performed many activities including the erection of structural steel. The location features a formal dining room, a bar and tasting area, and a retail shop along with an outdoor patio for the summer months. When guests arrive, they are greeted by a unique origami-style metal hawk just outside the building. The one-of-a-kind figure was hand crafted specifically for this Cooper’s Hawk location.

This project posed several challenges for our team. This was our first time building for the client, their operate and the expectations were unknown to us. This required more communication that normal to ensure the client’s expectations were being met. In addition, our team had only six months to complete construction on the restaurant. This required advanced planning and scheduling to ensure the building was turned over to the client on time. Ultimately, our team was able to deliver this high-end Cooper’s Hawk restaurant in a timeframe that ensured the client was satisfied.

This upscale restaurant brand began in Chicago, Illinois over 15 years ago. This is the third Cooper’s Hawk location in the State of Michigan and the first location our team has constructed for the brand.
