Calvin College Interpretive Center
1750 East Beltline Avenue SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546
Working with a simple design from Calvin College’s Architect, Wolverine Building Group developed the drawings to construct the Vincent and Helen Bunker Interpretive Center at Calvin College. It is an environmentally-friendly building that encompasses sustainable techniques, utilizes recyclable building materials, and produces more than 60% of its own operating power.
The nature center acts as a conduit between the public and its surroundings of Calvin College’s Ecosystem Preserve. Through its many features, it will educate people on sustainable concepts and emphasize a connection between them and the environment.
The Bunker Center was the winner of an ABC Award of Excellence and received Gold LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
