INTERIOR/EXTERIOR RENOVATIONS TO A SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY

Project Overview

Wolverine Building Group renovated Breton Village Green, a HUD subsidized living community for seniors 62 years and older in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The project involved interior and exterior renovations to the 160 units housed within the community. The bathrooms were upgraded with new tubs, showers, toilets, vanities, countertops, and bathroom fixtures, while the kitchens were upgraded with new cabinets and appliances. New flooring, drywall, windows, electrical panels, outlets, devices, and an upgraded HVAC system were installed throughout, and new offices and a community space were created. Lastly, a new roof was installed, concrete balconies and sidewalks were repaired, and landscaping and irrigation work was performed. There was very little in the existing building that our team did not touch in some way.

This project was challenging as it was an in-place rehab. Residents remained in their units while construction was being completed. This required extensive pre-planning, coordination, and communication. Much of the work was performed in phases to minimize the disruption to residents as well. Ultimately, our team was able to deliver a beautifully renovated on time and under budget.
