Muskegon Social Security Administration Moves Downtown

Muskegon, MI – (May 23, 2012) The staff of the Muskegon branch of the Social Security Administration are pleased to announce they are moving to a new building at 340 Morris in downtown Muskegon.

Wolverine Building Group and Landmark Design, both of Grand Rapids, worked together on the 10,800 square foot facility and adjacent parking lot. The traditional masonry building features abundant daylighting for a bright and welcoming interior. Green construction methods and materials were used in construction. The building is situated on a reclaimed industrial brownfield site, formerly the home of a coal gasification plant. Before it was purchased by developer Missing Link LLC, the site had sat vacant since the 1970s.

The new facility will provide office space for more than 30 employees. The project is one of many efforts of local businesses and organizations to revitalize Muskegon’s downtown area. “This will help to bring white collar jobs back to downtown Muskegon. It is a great thing for the city,” says construction project manager Dulane Coval of Wolverine Building Group.

Wolverine Building Group is a full service Design-Build, Construction Management and General Contracting firm, a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, an Accredited Quality Contractor from Associated Builders and Contractors, and is listed in ENR’s 400 Top Contractors in the nation.
