Governor Snyder, ABC of Michigan, and Wolverine Building Group Celebrate at HopCat Detroit
Detroit, MI – (May 16, 2014) Governor Rick Snyder and ABC of Michigan joined Wolverine Building Group this morning at the site of the HopCat project in downtown Detroit, currently under construction.
Wolverine Building Group, the project’s team of local contractors, Governor Snyder, and President of ABC of Michigan Chris Fisher met to discuss the fluctuations of Michigan’s construction industry.
Mike Houseman, the President of Wolverine Building Group’s North America division, discussed a lull in construction activity that had taken place in and around Detroit in recent years. Since mid-2012, he stated, contractors have noticed a strong upswing in the area.
“I’m proud to say that in the last six months, our company has completed seven jobs in the City of Detroit. Today we stand at the site of a new re-development in the heart of Midtown,” Houseman said. “We owe this to the courageous leadership of our current Governor.”
The new HopCat is a restoration of an existing building at 4265 Woodward Avenue. The project is scheduled to be complete in early fall of 2014, and is expected to bring about 100 new jobs to the area.
Wolverine Building Group is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year. For more information about Wolverine Building Group, please visit www.wolvgroup.com.
