Delaware Manor Expands its Senior Community

March 5, 2012 (Grand Rapids, MI) – Reverend John and Linda Grier are proud to announce that new construction will soon begin on Phase II of Delaware Manor located at 10 Delaware Street downtown Grand Rapids. The Griers, officers of the Better Living for Citizens, Inc., a non-profit committed to filling the need for affordable senior living, are the visionaries and owners of the project. Delaware Manor currently houses 47 units, providing its residents with a daily operating cafeteria, computer learning center, community gathering spaces, and an onsite service coordinator. The expansion, named Delaware Heights, will include the addition of 36 units to the senior community.

General contractor Wolverine Building Group and architectural firm DTS Winkelmann will lead the construction of a new 35,550 square foot, three-story building adjacent to the existing development. New tenants are expected to move-in by this December.

After years of planning and seeking assistance, the project was able to receive a fully-funded grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Please join us for the groundbreaking celebration of Delaware Heights held this Wednesday at 10 Delaware Street, Grand Rapids, MI at 1:00 p.m.

More information regarding leasing eligibilities and openings will be available soon.
