Dillard Appointed to Brownfield Redevelopment Authority
Appointee to Help Advance Grand Rapids’ Revitalization Goals
Grand Rapids, MI – January 24, 2024 – Wolverine Building Group is pleased to announce that Kaylee Dillard has been appointed to the City of Grand Rapids’ Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA). The authority is responsible for overseeing the Brownfield Redevelopment Program and the Local Brownfield Revolving Fund. The program helps offset some of the costs that come with the development of contaminated or currently unusable properties in the city of Grand Rapids.
Dillard is a Project Manager at Wolverine Building Group, where she has wide experience in commercial construction, working on diverse projects. Her current focus is multi-unit residential buildings, recently completing an adaptive reuse project with Family Promise of West Michigan. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Construction Engineering and Management.
In her new role on the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, Dillard, along with her fellow board members, will follow the guidance and recommendations of the BRA staff to:
- Review proposals for the redevelopment of eligible property and approve financial incentives that are necessary and available to assist the projects.
- Approve request for the Local Brownfield Revolving Fund which provides grants and loans to finance several types of Brownfield Redevelopment activity.
- Approve strategic financing to a variety of redevelopment projects, including housing, as recently directed by the Governor of Michigan in Michigan Public Act 90.
She is honored to have the opportunity to serve with the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and help make a positive impact on the City of Grand Rapids.
“Going behind the scenes and immersing myself in the brownfield process is going to be exciting,” said Dillard. “I know that redevelopment is essential to a vibrant city, and I can’t wait to watch my hometown grow.”
