Construction Begins at Division & Cherry

Grand Rapids, MI – (October 1, 2012) Wolverine Building Group is pleased to announce that they are continuing to add to the revitalization of downtown Grand Rapids with the addition of two housing projects at the corner of Division and Cherry.

Developer Brookstone Capital, general contractor Wolverine Building Group and architect Design Plus are working together on two mixed-use buildings. 205 Division will be a sevenstory mixed-use building with residential space, commercial space, and parking. 26 Cherry will be a six-story with one floor of parking/office/storage space and five floors of residential. Both facilities will provide modern housing with high-end finishes to low-income residents. The projects are supported by MSHDA and HUD funding. They are Section 3 projects that promote partnering with subcontractors and suppliers who employ residents of low-income housing who are local to the jobsite.

The project is scheduled for completion in the winter of 2013/2014. It is a Green Enterprisecertified sustainable project to reduce the building’s life cycle costs and environmental impact, and to provide a healthier environment for residents.
